BLUE-TIG/MIG 5183 is typically utilized in marine and structural applications where high strengths, high fracture toughness for impact resistance and exposure to corrosive elements are important. The aluminum wire is not recommended for elevated temperature applications due to its susceptibility to stress corrosion cracking. It is widely used for shipbuilding, recreation, transportation and containers.

BLUE-TIG/MIG 5356 is a general-purpose type aluminum alloy, which is typically chosen for its relatively high shear strength. In addition, it also offers excellent corrosion resistance when exposed to salt water. Also, should be used for welding 5000 series aluminum base metals. It is widely used for automotive, aerospace, shipbuilding, defense, recreation, transportation and containers.
